• F-BHEJ Aigle Azur Extreme Orient, Saigon, Vietnam. Delivered 14-Mar-1956. By rail freight to Halifax and then by ship to Bankok, Thailand where it was rebuilt before final delivery to Saigon.

Accident: Vientiane, Vietnam. 27-Augus-1956. During take-off, the pilot lost control of the aircraft, which swung off the runway. Two passengers were injured and the aircraft was wrecked.

Otter 95 was delivered to Aigle Azur Extreme Orient on 14th March 1956 registered F-BHEJ. It was one of three Otters delivered during March/May 1956 to this French charter operator based in Saigon, Vietnam although the Otters flew out of Vientiane, Laos. The Otter was shipped in a crate to Bangkok, Thailand where it was re-assembled and flown to its base at Vientiane. It was not in service for long. It crashed on take-off from Vientiane on 27th August '56, only five months after it had been delivered, with only 181 flying hours on the airframe. During take-off, the pilot lost control of the aircraft, which swung off the runway. Two passengers were injured and the Otter wrecked.
