Otter 442 was delivered to the Nigerian Government, Board of Customs & Excise, on 18th March 1963 registered 5N-ABL. It was one of three Otters delivered during March / April 1963, the others being 443 (5N-ABM) and 444 (5N-ABN). All three were packed into crates in Downsview and shipped to Lagos, Nigeria where they were re-assembled. 5N-ABL was on amphibious floats and named 'Ribadu'. The other two were landplanes. All three Otters were operated on behalf of the Board of Customs & Excise on anti-smuggling patrols by Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria, a subsidiary of Schreiner Air Transport of Holland.
Otter 5N-ABL was converted to a landplane in 1970 and continued in use until 1974. It was then used for a time by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre at Zaria as a ground instructional airframe, until it was scrapped.
