Loaned by the Army to the US Marine Corps at Marine Corps Air Station Quantico, VA.

Unknown date: Assigned to the 353rd Engineer Group at Oklahoma City, an Army Reserve unit.

Dec-1965. Assigned to the New Cumberland Army Depot, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a support aircraft.

November 1967. Sharpe Army Depot, Stockton, CA, from where it was transported to Vietnam.

May-1968, 54th Aviation Company, Vung Tau, Vietnam until stood down in Jan-1971.

Feb-1971. 388th Transportation Company, Vung Tau, Vietnam which was responsible for the storage and disposal of all Army Otters in Vietnam.

Jul-1971. Struck off US Army inventory as scrapped.

Otter 187 was delivered to the United States Army on 19th December 1956 with serial 55-3320 (tail number 53320). This Otter, together with 53319 (186) were loaned by the Army to the US Marine Corps and both Otters were delivered from Downsview to the Marine Corps Air Station Quantico, Virginia. They were painted in standard Army olive drab colours but carried 'Marines' titles. Having. served at Quantico for some time, 53320 was then assigned to the 353rd Engineer Group at Oklahoma City, an Army Reserve unit. It continued with that unit until December 1965 when it was assigned to the New Cumberland Army Depot, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a support aircraft, replacing Otter 92210.

In November 1967, 53320 headed west to the Sharpe Army Depot, Stockton, California from where it was transported to Vietnam where, in May 1968, it joined the 54th Aviation Company where it was to serve for nearly three years. It was still with the Company when it stood down in January 1971 and all its sixteen Otters were entrusted to the 56th Transportation Company that month. The following month all the Otters were flown to Vung Tau, into the care of the 388th Transportation Company, which was responsible for the storage and disposal of all Army Otters in Vietnam.

53320 was deleted from the inventory in July 1971, having been scrapped at Vung Tau.
