Assigned to the 3rd Aviation Company, Fort Riley, KS.

Jul-1957: 3rd Aviation Company deployed to Illesheim, Germany. Disbanded Nov-1959.

Jan-1962 Known to be with 66th Aviation Company at Bonames, Germany.

June 1964, Left Europe and was transported to the Army Aeronautical Depot Maintenance Center (ARADMAC) Depot, Corpus Christi, TX, for overhaul

Jun-1966. Transported to Vietnam where it joined the 54th Aviation Company.

Accident: Details unknown.

Jun-1967 Deleted from the Army inventory as the result of a crash. See above image.

Otter 161 was delivered to the United States Army on 3rd October 1956 with serial 55-3303 (tail number 53303). It was assigned to the 3rd Aviation Company, Fort Riley, Kansas and moved with the Company when it deployed to Illesheim, Germany in July 1957. The Company disbanded in November 1959 but 53303 remained in Europe and by January 1962 was serving with the 66th Aviation Company at Bonames, Germany. The Otter was noted visiting Manchester, England on 7th July 1962.

The Otter continued in service with the 66th Aviation Company until June 1964, when it left Europe and was transported to the ARADMAC Depot, Corpus Christi, Texas for overhaul. In June 1966 it was transported to Vietnam where it joined the 54th Aviation Company. It was deleted from the Army inventory in June 1967 as the result of a crash while operated by the 54th Aviation Company in Vietnam, details unfortunately unknown. See image above - airframe would have been repaired today!!
